Premananda Grace believes that our imagination is a portal from our ordinary lives to the extraordinary experience of magical adventures, enchanted forests and eccentric characters. An idealist and dreamer, Premananda aims to create worlds where childhood is celebrated and children are loved, supported, given freedom to explore while being supervised (even if it is by a Horserous!) and guided by their elders.Are You A Horserous is Premananda’s first publication and represents the fulfilment of a lifelong dream to become an author. Based on her adored grandchildren, Isla and Leo, where hours of imaginative play, their quirky personalities, Isla’s love of tutu’s, time spent in the forest near their home and her own daughter’s initiative in consciously creating magical moments and memories for her children, became the loving inspiration for the story that has become Are You A Horserous. Premananda remembers her own country childhood and her close relationship with family and friends in the small town where she was born. A thread of ‘community’ weaved through the lives of the town’s people, creating a deep sense of connection to the inhabitants and to the place itself. Are You A Horserous represents the universal experience of childhood and reminds us that when we care for a child, we are helping to create a legacy of love that then helps to shape the future for the generations to come.
